Family Wellness Programs
Educational programs that explore family and individual concerns.

Parenting Classes:

• Parenting Your Infant

• Active Parenting: Ages 1-4

• Active Parenting Now for parents of children 5-12.

• Families in Action--for teens and parents to attend simultaneously to improve communication and learn to get along.

Other Classes include:

• Peaceful Peers and Guided Girls--self esteem, anger management and social skill classes for children (grades 3 – 6)

• Interview Skills and Resume Building

• Stress Management

• Journal Writing

• Odd Girl Out—for mothers and daughters to learn about relational aggression (a form of bullying)

• Don’t Laugh at Me

• Schools and Families Engaged Together for Youth (SAFETY

• What is Substance Abuse?

• Couples Relationships

• The Single Parent Experience

• The Step Family Experience

• Divorce Recovery

• Children of Divorce

• Money Management

• Sign Language

• Divorce Adjustment

• Other topics by popular demand.

We can arrange Lunch Bunch groups at places of employment for parenting or stress management. Call us to learn more about this or about the possibility of other community presentations.

Teenage Parents Program
Provides services for pregnant and parenting teens and their babies. Case management, education and groups are provided by trained personnel. Young Parents Club meets twice a month for parents and their children and van transportation is available if needed.

Help Me Grow
Provides child developmental screenings, referrals, parenting information---one-on-one help during convenient home visits for children 0-3. The first three years of a child’s life are the building blocks for learning and development. Your child’s education begins the day they are born. Being a parent is probably the most important job you will ever have, and sometimes it can be difficult.

Community Based Programs
Provides programming related to family stability, school success, pregnancy prevention, and juvenile diversion. Programs include: Teens on Task, Akron Alternative Academy, and TACKLE.
