Welcome Samantha Taylor

Greenleaf Family Center and its Community Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program are honored to welcome Samantha (Sam) Taylor as their new department Director.
Sam has a Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University in Hearing, Speech, and Language and a Master’s Degree from Malone University in Organizational Leadership. Most recently Sam has worked for the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center expanding the services offered there as well as obtaining CARF accreditation for the department.
Sam’s work in Cleveland included expanding programming to include vocational rehabilitation services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, Project coordination requiring certification for a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocacy program, and pre-employment transitional youth programming.
Sam is fluent in American Sign Language and has significant grant writing experience which will help the department expand the services it is able to offer.
Sam joins a capable team of four full-time staff interpreters and an Interpreter Coordinator at Greenleaf Family Center. Sam’s first day at Greenleaf is April 3, 2019.
“Serving the Deaf community is my passion. I look forward to merging my experience and my commitment to expand the services offered to the Akron area Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing community.”
