Strengthening Families: for Parents and Youth 10-14 is a universal drug and alcohol prevention program appropriate for any middle school student and their parents/caregivers. This national, evidence-based program uses discussion, video, and fun activities to help youth and parents learn tools and skills to help them manage the often-challenging adolescent years. The SFP 10-14 is a seven-session series that meets once a week for seven weeks. Each session includes a family dinner, separate youth and parent education sessions, and family activities.
- Youth learn how to set goals, choose positive friends, and resist peer pressure.
- Parents learn how to support their youth by showing love and setting limits
- Families learn how to develop strong bonds and have fun together
Greenleaf partners with local Middle Schools to provide programming after-school. Families are not required to attend the school where the program takes place.
