Empowering Families to Help Children Learn, Grow and Thrive

Greenleaf's Family First Steps program (formerly Moms to Babies) promotes optimal early development, learning and health in children, 0-3 years old, by supporting and engaging parents and caregivers.

Our vision is that all children have the opportunity to grow and develop into their fullest potential. Family First Steps helps by partnering with parents and caregivers/guardians until their child(ren) reaches three years of age.

How we do this:

Personal home visits
Group sessions and events
Family goals and plans
Assessments and resources

Our goal is to provide families with resources, guidance, and support to help children learn, grow, and thrive. Together, we will focus on building strong foundations through education, connection, and support.

Using the internationally recognized Parents as Teachers model and curriculum, Family First Steps aims to:

Increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve positive parenting practices
Provide early detection of developmental delays and connection to services
Prevent child abuse and neglect
Increase children’s school readiness and success
Improve parent, child, and family health and well being
Improve family economic well-being
Strengthen community capacity and connectedness

What kind of referrals are provided?

Women, Infant and Children (WIC)
Healthy Start/Healthy Family medical insurance for pregnant women and their children
Prenatal care providers
Pediatricians
Food, clothing, and baby items
Housing referrals
Other family service agencies
