Leppo Rents and the Leppo family are long-time supporters of Greenleaf Family Center. We are extremely grateful for their continued assistance through the years. As this year's Night at the Races Presenting Sponsor, we want to recognize Leppo Rents, and spotlight their business, founded in Akron and now with locations across the NEO region and the U.S.
Leppo Equipment started in 1945 in Akron, Ohio by Roy and Stella Leppo as an Oliver Farm Equipment dealer. With a declining need for farm equipment in the 1970s, Leppo shifted focus to construction equipment which propelled the growth of the company. During this time, the company began to rent machines typically not found in traditional rental yards and Leppo Rents was born.
Since its founding, Leppo Rents has been a dealer for many manufacturers including Massey Ferguson, Case trenchers, Lull forklifts, Gradall, New Holland, and Mustang. Their current primary equipment lines include Bobcat, JLG, Hydro Mobile, and more.
Leppo Rents now covers northeast Ohio. The Canton location opened in 1995, Youngstown in 1996, Wooster in 1998, Cleveland/Bedford in 2004, and Cleveland/North Ridgeville in 2010. In 2019, the company moved beyond the Ohio border to Dothan and Opelika, Ala. in 2019; Panama City and Tallahassee, Fla., in 2020, and Jacksonville and Ocala, Fla., in 2023. They also added two more locations in Ohio in Lake County and Medina in 2022.
Leppo Rents also boasts an impressive record of achieving top workplace honors for several years running. They have been named 10 years in a row by the Cleveland Plain Dealer as a Top Workplace in Northeast Ohio, with the last honor in 2025.
Also in 2024, they were recognized by the ERC as a NorthCoast 99 award winner as one of 99 great Northeast Ohio workplaces for top talent for the fourth time.
